Toronto Blue Jays fans are demanding Varsho change his walk-up song

With the Toronto Blue Jays sitting just one game above last place in their division, fans are trying anything to get Canada's team back on track. And for some, that effort starts with one player's walk-up song.

Since the beginning of the 2025 season, Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho has used Alex Warren's popular pop ballad "Ordinary" as his walk-up tune. But after batting .213 during the team's World Series run, and now hitting a well below-average .171 to start the 2026 season, some fans are demanding a change.

There's a growing movement on social media to get Varsho to change his walk-up song. Someone even started a petition.

"I'm a big fan of Varsho, but it's time for a change," Blue Jays super-fan @skyedomie told blogTO on the inspiration behind the petition.

"Beautiful song choice for a wedding, not for the middle of the lineup when your team's 4-6," one supporter wrote.

"This song is about as exciting as the breakfast hour at an old folks' home," said another.

"It's a good song for walking in the rain crying about this season; bad song to lock in before an at-bat with [Yoshinobu] Yamamoto," another fan wrote. Warren reportedly wrote the chart-topping pop hit about his fear of not being enough in relationships — a theme that ironically mirrors how some fans feel about Varsho's production at the plate.
