It's no secret that long lines and packed attractions are part of the experience at Canada's Wonderland, but line jumpers shouldn't be. So what can you do when someone tries to push ahead in an already crowded queue?
What many park-goers don't realize is that instead of stewing in frustration, they can report it directly to security by texting 289-536-4004, a phone number you'll see on bright blue boarded signs near the queue for easy visibility.
The initiative helps improve guest experience and safety across the park, especially during peak seasons when wait times are long and tensions can run high.
"We have a number posted through the park that guests are welcome to text to contact security," Grace Peacock, Director, Public Relations, Canada's Wonderland, tells blogTO.
But the number manages problems beyond pesky line jumpers, Peacock confirms. "This can be for any matter related to security and safety," explaining that the park's on-site security team is instantly notified and a crew is dispatched for further investigation.
The idea is straightforward: see something, text someone. Guests don't need to leave their spot in line or track down staff. Instead, they can discreetly report the situation and let trained personnel handle it.
It's no news that line jumping has long been a bane for parkgoers, often leading to arguments or rowdy confrontations. This system aims to help guests feel more in control, offering a way to escalate a situation more peacefully.
Canada's Wonderland is set to open its doors to the public on May 3, with its chaperone policy back in place for a more enjoyable experience for all guests. The park has already announced some exciting changes to look forward to this year, along with new treats for food lovers to relish.
Canada's Wonderland is located at 1 Canada's Wonderland Dr. in Vaughan, Ont.
