canadas wonderland chaperone policy

Canada's Wonderland brings back controversial policy to manage unruly teens

Canada's Wonderland will not be taking any chances with unrowdy guests as the amusement park's chaperone policy is now firmly cemented in its rules and regulations for its upcoming 2026 season.

The park says that guests aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone at least 21 years old, and each chaperone can supervise up to 10 guests. The policy takes effect when the park opens for the season on May 3.

While many may have viewed last year's introduction of the policy as a one-and-done pilot project, Canada's Wonderland has now confirmed its return in 2026 as part of its commitment "to providing a safe, enjoyable environment for all our guests."

The park, the largest in Canada and home to the world's tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster, Yukon Striker, has experienced several incidents involving guest misconduct over the years. Officials have since determined that updating the park's Code of Conduct, including implementing this chaperone policy, is the best way to address these concerns moving forward.

While the anticipated addition of a new water attraction to the park's 330-acre Splash Works is currently on hold, this year, Canada's Wonderland introduced major changes coming to two classic coasters, along with a plethora of new foods to enjoy while exploring the theme park on your next visit this coming season.

Canada's Wonderland is located at 1 Canada's Wonderland Dr. in Vaughan, Ont.
