Radar: Lost in the Trees, Tweetgasm One Year Anniversary, From Page to Screen, Australian Artists Rock The Horseshoe
MUSIC | Lost In The Trees
Lost In The Trees is a unique musical collective from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, led by Ari Picker. Strings are a vital component of their sound, which is a fusion of orchestral music and folk, with the dynamics of pop thrown in for good measure. Picker is no dilettante when is comes to this 'fusion', either - he is a schooled composer who has already had a symphonic work played publicly by the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra. These guys have just played at the Hillside festival in Guelph over the weekend, and will be in fine form tonight for their gig at The Drake.

FILM | Toronto Film Society presents From Page to Screen
The TFS' "From Page To Screen" series continues this evening, on a lighter note than usual: "British Comedy" is the theme for the evening. Author Joyce Carey's novel, "The Horse's Mouth" is the source material for our first feature of this double bill. This 1958 Ronald Neame directed film tells the quirky story of an eccentric artist, starring the great Alec Guiness and Kay Walsh. The second feature on this double bill is "The Wrong Box", directed by Bryan Forbes, based on the Robert Louis Stevenson (and son) novel. Michael Caine and Peter Cook star in this hilarious film, and Peter Sellers has a cameo. Tonight's guest speaker is Risa Shuman.
Carlton Cinema (20 Carlton Street) 7:30PM $15
CULTURE | Tweetgasm One Year Anniversary
Tweetgasm is a monthly event at The Gladstone Hotel, sometimes with a specific theme, but always fueled by Twitter. It's a great networking event, and many of Toronto's social media mavens have made the scene in the past. Tonight celebrates one year of these shindigs, and spirits will be high. Music of the retro and funky variety will be delivered by the DJ team, Speedboats and Big Explosions. #Shouldbefun.

MUSIC | Australian Artists Rock The Horseshoe
Some music from Down Under tonight at The Horseshoe! Another band gracing TO after a Hillside Fest warmup is Graveyard Train, hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Also "on board" are fellow Aussies Kim Churchill and Eli Wolfe. With "death-folk with heart" being used as the descriptor for the night's offerings, how can we resist showing these guys a good time here in Hogtown?
The Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West) 8:30PM $10
