Green Day coming to Toronto in 2024 and they're bringing other 90s throwback bands

Green Day has announced a Toronto stop on the band's upcoming The Saviors Tour, and the pop-punk legends will be bringing along other 90s throwbacks when they roll into town to play the Rogers Centre on August 1, 2024.

Supporting the band's new album, Saviors, the tour's also celebrating the 30-year anniversary of their groundbreaking 1994 breakout album Dookie (arguably one of the most important releases in pop-punk history) and the 20-year anniversary of comeback opus, American Idiot.

The tour features a couple of other big names from the 90s. Special guests include alt-rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins and popular punk outfit Rancid, as well as the 2018-formed all-girl group, The Linda Lindas.

Green Day will only make two stops in Canada on its 44-stop global stadium tour. Toronto's August 1 show will be followed by an August 3 appearance at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, featuring the same supporting acts.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. EST on November 8.

The band's 14th studio album, Saviors, is scheduled to release on January 19, 2024.
