After weeks of hype and various high-profile stunts across Toronto, hometown megastar Drake's hotly anticipated "Iceman" album dropped at midnight on Friday.
The album was joined by two other surprise releases, bringing crowds of fans out to witness the final spectacle in the lead-up to the drop.
The CN Tower was bathed in light in the hours leading up to the album release, visually icing over the landmark, while a surprise 10:45 p.m. fireworks show associated with the album drop drew large crowds to the waterfront.

For anyone not clued into the pre-album promotion, the unplanned closure of Bremner Blvd, the glowing CN Tower, and ultimately the sudden crowd scene and fireworks may have come as a bit of a surprise, as all of these developments occurred with practically no public notice.

Along with Iceman, the trio of albums includes surprise releases Habibti and Maid of Honour, combining for a whopping 43 tracks, the first major release since Drake's high-profile feud with U.S. rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Among the videos released, Drake can be seen performing at places like City Hall, wearing the mayor's chain of office (where the rapper was spotted earlier this spring) and Downsview Park (where an album-related explosion generated buzz a few weeks earlier).
Congrats to everyone involved. Really cool project. CN tower entirely iced out, next level difficulty in projection. Really cool to observe. Toronto is the perfect city. pic.twitter.com/hXaECOFerl

Thursday night's crowd scene follows a series of promotional stunts leading up to the album drop(s), including a massive stack of ice blocks assembled in downtown Toronto that required intervention from the fire department, and Drake's courtside seats at Scotiabank Arena encased in artificial ice during the Toronto Raptors' brief playoff run.
With the sheer quantity of new music dropped on Thursday night, Toronto has plenty of listening to do over the coming days.
