Drake has Toronto in a frenzy again and this time he's taken over the CN Tower

Since Drake's rap career took off nearly two decades ago, he’s shown nothing but love for the CN Tower, even putting Canada's tallest landmark on one of his album covers. Now, it seems the iconic crown jewel of Toronto's skyline is returning the favour.

Anticipation has been steadily building for Drake's upcoming album, ICEMAN — his first full-length release in nearly three years — which is set to drop May 15. All eyes are on Toronto's hometown superstar as he releases new music in the wake of his massive, years-long feud with U.S. rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Now, it looks like the CN Tower is helping hype up Drizzy by lighting up blue and projecting what appears to be ice blocks onto the side of the 553-metre-tall structure. On Wednesday night, fans were quick to snap photos and share them across social media.

Other news outlets reported that Bremner Blvd., the street the tower stands on, was closed temporarily on Thursday morning, in speculation of Drake's CN Tower stunt. 

Drake has also been spotted filming what many presume is a music video for the upcoming album. Back on April 16, he was seen shooting near Downsview Park in a production that caused quite an explosion — literally.

Later that week, in a dramatic push to build hype around ICEMAN, Drake set up a giant ice sculpture in a downtown Toronto parking lot. Just days later, however, the installation was shut down by the City of Toronto over public safety concerns. As it turns out, fans attacking massive blocks of ice with chainsaws and blowtorches was not the reaction they were hoping for. 

With less than 24 hours until ICEMAN lands on every streaming platform imaginable, fans still don't have an official album cover or tracklist, though a few unconfirmed leaks have circulated online. 

Perhaps the rumoured "National Treasures" song is about our beloved tower? Who knows.

These days, artists are never direct when it comes to announcing projects. Instead, posting cryptic social media posts has become the norm. (I blame Taylor Swift for this overdone gimmick.) 

Early Thursday morning, the rapper posted a graphic image featuring the words "May 14 945" alongside a caption linking out to his official YouTube page.

If I were you, I'd keep your eyes peeled at both 9:45 a.m. and p.m. (just to be safe!) today to see what the city's coolest hitmaker has on ice.
