Walmart's signature blue-white-and-yellow signage will soon pop up at an Ontario mall that recently completed a multi-million-dollar renovation.
On Wednesday, Walmart Canada announced that it's gearing up to open a brand new Supercentre in Bramalea City Centre in Brampton next year.
The massive, 140-square-foot store will feature Walmart's full general merchandise assortment, including clothing, home goods, beauty, electronics, and seasonal items, plus a grocery section with fresh produce, meats, seafood, baked goods, frozen foods, and pantry staples.
The location, which will serve as the corporation's sixth store in Brampton, will also include a Walmart pharmacy, as well as pickup and delivery services.
"We've been a part of the Brampton community since 1994 and we're excited to bring this new Supercentre – our sixth in the city – to Bramalea City Centre," said Shawn Fujiki, Senior Director, Real Estate, Walmart Canada.
"We're opening this new Supercentre as part of our $6.5 billion investment in Canada announced last year, which will help to bring our everyday low prices to even more customers across the country."
News of the opening comes just a few months after Bramalea City Centre unveiled the multi-million dollar renovation of its South Food Court.
Earlier this year, Walmart Canada announced a milestone $6.5 billion investment over the next five years to expand its store and supply chain footprint. As a result, the retailer opened new stores in Port Credit and Oakville, plus its Ambient Distribution Centre in Vaughan.
Walmart currently operates 150 stores across Ontario and employs over 45,000 associates.
Bramalea City Centre is located at 25 Peel Centre Dr.
