Less than two weeks after Flying Tiger made its Canadian debut at Toronto's Eaton Centre, the quirky Scandinavian brand has already announced it will open a second store just north of Toronto at Vaughan Mills.
Since its inception in 1995, the Danish brand has grown a huge, loyal fanbase for selling affordable and downright adorable home goods like strawberry-shaped mugs and countless colourful kitchen utensils. In fact, 80 per cent of items in stock are $10 or less.
Shoppers waited in line for hours ahead of Flying Tiger's long-awaited June 26 opening at the Eaton Centre to finally stock their baskets with the tchotchkes the store has earned a reputation for in the last three decades.
And soon, Toronto's largest mall won't be the only GTA shopping centre where you can experience the magic of Flying Tiger.
On Monday morning, the brand announced on social media that it is about to open a second location — stocked with "colourful little things, useful surprises, and finds you didn't know you needed" — at Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre on July 10.
And the buck doesn't stop there. According to a LinkedIn post, the brand plans to open at least 50 stores across Canada by 2030, and based on their recent sprint of launching two Ontario locations in less than a month, they are well on their way to hitting that goal.
If you're on a tight budget (say, you only have $50 to spend) but in desperate need to spruce up your apartment with funky decor, there are plenty of items you can add to your cart without going over.

Aside from the new Flying Tiger, there's lots to see and do at Vaughan Mills these days. In June, Playdium opened its biggest venue at the mall, complete with a gel blaster arena and glow-in-the-dark augmented reality duckpin bowling.
Vaughan Mills is located at 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr. in Vaughan, Ont.
