A new Turkish-inspired bakery just opened in Toronto, and it's celebrating by offering its most popular treats for only $3.
A sweet tooth can never be tamed, so you won't hear any disappointed sighs when a new bakery opens.
For Toronto, the new kid in town is Puuffy Bakery. After soft-launching at the end of August and with a grand opening on the way, they've made sure to start with a bang, and maybe also add a few sprinkles on top to sweeten things up
Shop owner Can (pronounced "John") Montana was born in Adana, Türkiye, and has worked in bakeries since he was 13, after discovering his love for drawing could become physical artistry through pastry.
Fast forward 24 years, and Montana is bringing his knowledge and artistry to Toronto by opening Puuffy Bakery in Chinatown.
Montana's pride in Turkish treats takes many forms at the bakery, from the hints of Turkish culture drizzled onto each dessert through carefully chosen flavours to the fact that the team makes everything in-house with fresh ingredients to ensure the highest quality and no additives.
But the shop's heart is really in its ice cream. With a whopping 16 unique flavours made in-house, Puuffy offers bowls or cones and encourages customers to mix their ice cream with other menu items, with no limits on what you can create.
Ice cream sandwiched between a croissant or hot coffee poured over pistachio ice cream; you're encouraged to put ice cream on virtually everything, and, with its grand-opening celebration right around the corner, now's your chance!
After a month in the city, Puuffy Bakery is officially opening its doors and welcoming you this weekend.
From Saturday, Oct. 24 to Sunday, Oct. 25, you can try their viral pistachio affogato and croissant ice cream sandwiches for only $3 each. From October 26th to 31st, scoops of their from-scratch ice cream will also go for $3 a piece.
With 16 ice cream flavours to choose from and the chance to slap that cold, savoury-and-sweet treat between any pastry, what else could you ask for?
Puuffy Bakery is located at 439 Spadina Avenue.
