A Korean bakery chain with nearly 2000 locations worldwide is finally opening its first shop in Toronto this week.
While Toronto is already home to some droolworthy Korean bakeries (I'm looking at you, Kream and Paris Baguette), they're sort of like cupcakes: there's always room for one more.
And lucky for us, this week, Toronto is about to get one more. South Korean mega-chain Tous Les Jours is finally gearing up to open its first Toronto location, fittingly situated inside a space occupied by another huge Korean brand: H Mart.
Setting up shop at the grocery chain's newest Toronto footprint, Tous Les Jours will bring its internationally renowned suite of French- and Korean-inspired baked goods to Canada for the first time in the chain's history.
Founded in 1996, Tous Les Jours has become one of the most recognizable bakery chains in South Korea and beyond, boasting over 1700 locations worldwide, across Asia and the United States.
Though the chain made its first foray into North America all the way back in 2004, the new Toronto location marks its first, and hopefully not last, in Canada.
At the bakery, you can expect to sink your teeth into a variety of French-inspired pastries that have become popular in Korea, like flaky croissants filled with cream and fruit, savoury croquettes, Mont Blancs and the almighty sausage pastry, alongside sandwiches, coffee drinks and picture-perfect cakes.
Tous Les Jours Toronto will be located inside the new H Mart location at 5803 Yonge St. and will officially open on Thursday, Sept. 17.
