Further proof of bagels' rising stock in the city? Company Bagel, a sleek new bagel shop that's gearing up to open its doors on one of Toronto's busiest and buzziest drags.
Taking over the former home of La Cubana's last remaining brick-and-mortar, Company Bagel caught the immediate attention of passing carbophiles when its aloof facade appeared earlier this month.
Nestled among scores of other buzzy bakeries and cafes, it would already be a shoo-in for one of the street's most talked-about newcomers, but with an accomplished local chef at the helm, Company Bagel has serious potential to go completely gangbusters.
Behind Company Bagel is Eli Kerbel, whose resume boasts impressive stints at the likes of Sunny's Chinese, Bar Raval and La Carnita, so your breakfast (or lunch, or dinner — there's really no wrong time to eat a bagel) is in good hands.
There's no word yet on when, exactly, Company Bagel is opening its doors, but its social media promises it's "coming soon," so bagel fiends the city over can rest assured the wait shouldn't be too long.
