A hugely popular fried chicken chain with locations across Ontario is finally opening its first downtown Toronto location soon.
In just four years, Toronto's Juicy Birds has expanded from a sole location on Danforth to an Ontario-wide flock of more than a dozen, but the downtown core of the city it hatched from has always been left out.
Until later this month, that is, because Juicy Birds is finally gearing up to set up shop — or should I say coop? — downtown.
Specializing in Nashville-style hot chicken, the chain has amassed a considerable cult following, boasting nearly 60,000 followers on Instagram and 68,000 on TikTok, but followers aren't the only evidence of Juicy Birds' grip on the Ontario food scene.
Since the day its original Toronto location opened in 2022, the Juicy Birds fleet has expanded to 14 locations, from Aurora to Etobicoke, Waterloo to Whitby.
Next up, the Entertainment District is getting the Juicy Birds treatment, with a location at 118 John Street.
Juicy Birds' menu features a tight lineup of hefty fried chicken sandwiches, tenders available in one of five heat levels and shareables like "dirty hot fries" and loaded mac n' cheese, all of which have already earned a considerable amount of airtime on social media.
The precise opening date is still up in the air, but Juicy Birds tells blogTO that they hope to get it open by the end of August 2026. The good news? You can visit any one of their 14 other locations to satisfy your cravings in the meantime.
Downtown Toronto isn't the only new Juicy Birds location slated to open in the near future. The chain is also gearing up to open locations in Bowmanville and Kingston.
