Toronto's most affordable food festival returns next month with everything under $10

Everybody in Toronto benefits from saving a few extra bucks these days, but luckily, thanks to the city's budget-friendly food festival, you can still celebrate the best parts of summer in the city without breaking the bank.

Admittedly, I may be more food-oriented than the average bear, but, for me, along with outdoor concerts and baseball games, food festivals are some of my favourite events to attend all summer long — but all that eating puts a strain not only on one's waistline, but on their wallets, too.

Luckily for me and anyone else who shares my affinity for summer food festivals, Street Eats Market's Underground Night Market is coming back for a second year this June.

After a whirlwind debut last year, the market will take over Bathurst Quay Commons on select evenings through June and July, flooding the waterfront park with stalls from some of the city's hottest food vendors.

The best part of all? Not only is the market free to attend, but every single bite at the festival will ring in at an impressive $10 or less.

While the lineup of food vendors hasn't been announced just yet, last year's market featured the likes of dumplings, noodles, yakitori, ice cream and even locally grown produce, so you can rest assured knowing your hunger is in good hands.

Of course, food isn't the only thing you'll be able to find at the market. Throughout its run, there'll also be plenty of inedible entertainment, like free salsa lessons, games, face painting, and shopping, but like I said, I'm food-motivated.

Underground Night Market kicks off its 2026 season on Friday, June 12, and will continue to run on select dates through July. Specific dates and more information can be found on Street Eats Market's website.
