toronto night market

Toronto is getting a new street food night market where everything is under $10

I can't be the only person who gets goosebumps whenever they hear the terms 'street food' and 'night market' together in one sentence. Luckily for Toronto, a new weekly night market offering exactly that is about to kick off this week.

While an average Toronto summer has no shortage of night markets where you can dive into a veritable feast of street food staples (I'm looking at you, Waterfront Night Market), I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much of a good thing — especially when it's happening every Saturday night from May through July.

Underground Night Market (alternatively known as UNDR GRND NGHT MRKT because, y'know, style) is the latest venture to give Toronto residents the chance to spend some time pleasing their palates under the stars.

Here's the real kicker: all of the food and beverages available at the market will be under $10. See you never, $25 cocktails in a plastic cup.

The market, which runs every Saturday night from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Harbourfront Centre Commons, will feature a rotating lineup of unique bites from emerging food and drink concepts around the city.

Prepare yourself for a diverse range of regional cuisines, fusions and flavours from local chefs and restaurants alongside creative cocktails from the city's hottest up-and-coming mixologists.

It's not only about the food, though. Well, for me it is, but you'll also be able to shop non-edible items from a curated collection of indie vendors offering handmade goods and art, alongside DJs keeping the vibes up all night long.

It's also all taking place right on the waterfront, and it doesn't really get better than that.

The night markets are totally free to attend, so all you need to do is show up and let the good times roll. Speaking of rolls, I wonder if there will be spring rolls there.
