7-eleven japanese sandwich

Viral 7-Eleven Japanese egg sandwich is finally coming to Canada

If you've ever been to Japan (or even if you haven't), chances are you're pretty familiar with 7-Eleven Japan's game.

For years, Japanese convenience store egg sandwiches have been the stuff of legend, with even culinary greats such as Anthony Bourdain giving them a shout-out.

Now, after many years, the world-famous Tomago Sando will be hitting 7-Eleven locations across Canada next month, so we can finally see what all the fuss is about.

To bring the iconic sandwich overseas, 7-Eleven's executive chef, Benny Cheng, has replicated the Japanese recipe, using authentic ingredients such as cage-free eggs and Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise. The filling is served between slices of fresh shokupan (a soft and fluffy milk bread).

It's not hard to see why the Tomago Sando is 7-Eleven Japan's top-selling sandwich.

For those looking to get their hands on the sensation, they'll be officially heading to Canadian 7-Eleven locations on March 4, and will retail for $5 each.

Will you be heading to 7-Eleven to check the sandwiches out?
