A Toronto restaurateur and TV personality just launched his latest restaurant in Toronto, taking on an equally noteworthy location.
You may know David Adjey for his now-shuttered Dundas West restaurant Bouffe, from his time as a personality on Restaurant Makeover or from his viral Yorkie Burrito creations at the Distillery Winter Village.
Now, he's at the helm of a new venture that's already earning equal notoriety in Toronto: an intimate restaurant at the Windsor Arms Hotel called Chaghall.
The cozy, 32-seat restaurant features a menu of globally-inspired cuisine with a twist: everything on the menu is completely kosher.
"Chagall is about more than just what's on the plate," Adjey says.
"It's about creating moments, whether it's the art of tableside service, the surprise of dishes with global flavours, or the feeling of dining somewhere that's intimate, refined, and featuring a fresh approach to kosher dining."
The bone-in Prime Rib is among the more lavish offerings on the menu.
On the menu, you can find dishes from around the globe. Think Vietnamese fresh rolls, short rib tacos, Mongolian crispy beef and Gochujang chicken, alongside an expansive selection of steak-based dishes, from beef Wellington to bone-in prime rib.
The menu even features a plant-based option in the vegan Wellington, which comes drizzled with a sumptuous tomato-pepper coulis.
The interior, designed by Lori Morris of LMD Design, is a perfect complement to the opulent boutique hotel, all lavish fabrics, natural stones, sleek wood finishes and expansive mirrors.
Opening its doors officially in mid-November 2025, the restaurant is proof of a new era for Toronto's culinary scene: one wherein, no matter what dietary needs you have, you can still dine on exceptional dishes.
Chaghall is located in the Windsor Arms Hotel, at 18 St. Thomas St.
