One of the best bars in the world is coming to Toronto for two nights only next month

Toronto may be home to an impressive crop of world-class bars, including one that's ranked among the top 100 in the world, but when it comes to the top 10, you have to venture outside of the country.

Until this November, that is.

Next month, the founder of a bar that's been regarded as one of the best on the planet is taking up residency at a Toronto restaurant to give the city a taste of what it takes to be on top.

On the evenings of Tuesday, Nov. 4 and Wednesday, Nov. 5, Carlos Aguinsky, co-founder of Buenos Aires' celebrated Tres Monos, is taking over the bar at 1 Hotel's Casa Madera, bringing a taste of Argentina to Wellington Street.

Tres Monos, which translates to three monkeys, is a charming, funky indie bar located in the buzzy Palermo District of Buenos Aires that shakes up playful, colourful cocktails crafted using exclusively homegrown ingredients.

In 2025, Tres Monos earned the distinction of being the 1oth best bar in the entire world, landing a whopping 45 spots ahead of Toronto's closest (and only) entry on the list, Bar Pompette, at 55.

Not that, but it's also ranked the top bar in all of South America. In other words, prepare for a calibre of cocktails that Toronto bars have so far only aspired to.

Aguinsky is behind the bar starting at 5 p.m on both nights, all the while Casa Madera's Executive Chef Daniele Pisanu serves a limited-run selection of small plates to complement the drinks.

If finding out what makes a cocktail worthy of worldwide acclaim sounds like your idea of a good time, you can book reservations for Aguinsky's guest shift through 1 Hotel's website now.

1 Hotel Toronto is located at 550 Wellington St. W.
