Chinese restaurant shut down by Toronto health inspectors

A Toronto Chinese restaurant was shut down last week after being nailed with three crucial health infractions that might just make your skin crawl.

The restaurant has been running since 2007, specializing in live seafood and a menu replete with standard dim sum offerings.

Dynasty House Seafood Restaurant near Black Creek Drive and Lawrence Avenue West is the latest in the city to get slammed by Toronto health inspectors after their most recent inspection, held on June 27, yielded four separate infractions, three of which were "crucial," — the most serious category of infraction.

The restaurant raked in its first infraction for maintaining the restaurant in a manner that allowed for insects to enter, live and multiply on the premises, while the second infraction was for the same thing, only with rodents. Shudder.

The last of the crucial infractions, the restaurant was also found guilty of failure to protect their food from contamination.

The full report is available through the DineSafe website.

This is the first time the restaurant has been shut down due to health infractions, but they'll have the chance to reopen once the infractions are corrected and a subsequent inspection finds no additional infrections present.

Dynasty House Seafood Restaurant is located at 1635 Lawrence West.
