Toronto Food Events: Night It Up!, Food For Thought, Hogtown Throwdown, Seafood in the Sky

Toronto Food Events rounds up the most delicious events, festivals, pop-ups, winemaker dinners, supper clubs and other food related happenings in Toronto this week and next. You can find us here every Friday morning.

THIS WEEK

  • Market 707 teams up with the Toronto Artist Collective tonight, Friday, July 12th from 5pm to 9pm. The free event takes place at the Scadding Court Community Centre (707 Dundas Street West) and will feature food vendors, pop-up shops, line performances and a Just Dance Wii Zone.
  • Night It Up! the outdoor Taiwan/Hong Kong-styled street food market is on from 7pm to midnight on Friday, July 12th and then noon until midnight on Saturday, July 13th and noon until 8pm on Sunday, July 14th at the Markham Civic Centre (101Town Centre Boulevard).
  • Taste of Thailand takes over Nathan Phillip Square this weekend, July 13th and 14th with a festival of food, dance and boxing.
  • The Rhino Summer Beer Festival is on this Sunday, July 14th at 1249 Queen Street West. Presented by Canadian Beer News, general admission is free at the door starting at 1pm. Beer sample tickets will be $2 and food will available for purchase.
  • The Beer Academy (75 Victoria Street) hosts Food For Thought, a cooking competition in support of Breakfast for Learning. Barque Smokehouse, Lou Dawg's and Two Bite Saloon will serve up bite-sized apps for judging.
  • Tasty Thursdays continues at Nathan Phillips Square this week on July, 18th from 11am to 2pm with live music and food vendors offering internationally-inspired plays for $7 or less.
  • Jamie Kennedy Kitchens hosts a Mid-Summer Beer & Chicken BBQ & Fry-up on Friday, July 19th from 6pm to 10pm at the Gilead Cafe (4 Gilead Place).

UPCOMING

  • The Depanneur (1033 College Street) hosts Dali Chehemi and Christophe Folgoas on Saturday, July 20th for the Rusholme Park Supper Club instalment dubbed Txokos - A Basque Culinary Adventure. Tickets are $40 for the 3-course menu.
  • The group of seven chefs invites 4 Montreal chefs for a Hogtown Throwdown on Sunday, July 22nd at the Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Avenue). Tickets are available now for $50 that will include eight porky plates and a beer or wine.
  • Join the Culinary Adventure Company for Seafood in the Sky on Friday, July 26th at an undisclosed rooftop patio. Tickets are $125 for the 7-course seafood feast.
