Disney attraction is coming to Ontario's Niagara Falls

A Disney-licensed attraction is set to open next year in Ontario's tourist hotspot of Niagara Falls.

Niagara Parks announced on Wednesday that it will open a new "multi-sensory experience" dubbed AVATAR: Guardians of Eywa, based on the popular film franchise from Canadian director James Cameron.

The walkthrough attraction, officially licensed by Disney Theatrical Group, is to feature a mix of audio-visual elements, including live performers and what is being described as "state-of-the-art immersive technology."

Montreal-based entertainment specialists EMM Williams Productions developed the production, known for their work in immersive and location-based experiences. The company worked with IMMEX and designers Moment Factory, under license from Disney Theatrical Group and Lightstorm Entertainment Inc., to recreate the world of Avatar in Niagara Falls.
