ttc closure this week

Entire TTC line will shut down for most of the day on Monday

Metrolinx will shut down the TTC's newest transit line for most of the day on Monday, Aug. 3, to undergo upgrades, which may come as a bit of a surprise to riders as the Line 6 - Finch West route debuted only a few months ago.

The TTC has announced that service on the entire Line 6, between Humber College and Finch West stations, will be halted for much of the day on Monday and replaced by shuttle bus service, with regular LRT service to begin at 4 p.m.

According to the TTC, the closure is required due to "planned signalling software upgrade work undertaken by Metrolinx," signalling to frustrated riders that this disruption was scheduled by the provincial transit agency, and getting ahead of the backlash commuters typically aim at the local transit authority.

Commuters are being advised that Humber College Station and all other stops on Line 6 will remain closed during this time, along with the Line 6 portion of Finch West Station, including the passenger tunnel connecting Lines 1 and 6.

The TTC states that regular service will resume at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, August 3.
