35 new and expanded schools are about to open in Ontario

Almost three dozen new and expanded schools in Ontario are about to open for the 2026-27 school year.

The provincial government announced that 35 new and expanded schools will open this fall, with $1 billion worth of new projects set to come online and create over 18,000 student spaces and 1,100 licensed child care spaces.

The major expansion in school capacity is part of a broader 10-year provincial plan to inject $30 billion into the construction and renewal of Ontario's educational facilities.
