how to get to toronto island

We raced a water taxi against Toronto's island ferry and it wasn't even close

"How to get to Toronto Island" isn't just a question for tourists. Locals wrestle with the same debate every summer when it comes time to choose between the classic ferry ride and the alternative water taxi options.

While tourists will typically gravitate towards the iconic ferry service connecting the islands with the mainland, locals are increasingly turning to the more direct (and expensive) water taxi services to beat lines and large crowds.

But when blogTO put the two popular harbour crossing options to the test, it was the more frequent departure windows of the water taxis that gave the yellow-checked option the edge.

Check out our ferry vs. water taxi race below.
