ttc subway closure this weekend

3.5 kilometres of TTC subway will shut down this weekend

TTC subway closures this weekend will impact an almost 3.5-kilometre stretch of track on the Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, and here's everything you need to know about the planned transit disruption ahead.

The transit agency plans to halt service on a stretch of Line 2 spanning from St George station in the west to Broadview station in the east on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Commuters relying on this stretch will have to make do with replacement shuttle buses.

Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed during the single-day outage, while other stations affected by the closure will remain open for commuters to connect with surface routes and purchase fares.

Service disruption on Line 2 is just the latest in a series of scheduled outages the TTC attributes to ongoing signal work on the line, as the transit agency works to prepare the route for Automatic Train Control, set to eventually replace the aging 60-year-old signalling system as part of a broader modernization.

Trains will resume service on Line 2 on Sunday, March 15, at roughly 8 a.m.
