Following weeks of blizzards, icy commutes, and bone-chilling subzero temperatures, Toronto is finally about to catch a much-needed break from winter this upcoming weekend as springlike conditions settle over the province.
Temperatures in the city are expected to swing by as much as 18 degrees C over the next few days, taking us from frigid wind chills to springlike highs in the mid-teens throughout the weekend. However, before we get there, we'll have to push through just a few more days of chilly and unsettled weather.
According to The Weather Network's 7-day forecast for Toronto, temperatures will dip to -3 C on Wednesday night, which will feel closer to -8 C with the wind chill. On Thursday, we can expect lots of rain, with a high of 3 C and a low of -1 C.
"Uncertainty begins to make its way into the forecast late Thursday afternoon as a region of high pressure from the north nudges south slightly, ushering in cooler surface temperatures by the evening. Paired with the rain, we'll see an increased threat of freezing rain Thursday evening and through the overnight," the latest report from The Weather Network reads.
On Friday, dreary conditions will persist, with a high of 4 C and a low of 1 C. Things will finally start to heat up on Saturday, with a high of 15 C and a low of 1 C overnight. Temperatures will remain in the double digits on Monday and Tuesday, when we're expected to see a high of 15 C.
Although temperatures are set to range in the mid-teens in Toronto, parts of the province, including Windsor, could see temperatures reach the 20 C mark by the end of the weekend.
Make sure to make the most out of the springlike stretch of weather while it's here, because longer-range forecasts suggest that unsettled conditions could creep back in by the middle to the latter part of next week.
