Toronto business mistakenly bombed with one-star reviews aimed at other company

A Toronto-based delivery company has found itself at the centre of an online storm thanks to a simple case of mistaken identity.

Dragonfly Delivery, a small Ontario company specializing in same-day courier services, has been hit with a barrage of one-star reviews online over the past several weeks. The reviews, however, all appear to be intended for another company with a similar title — Dragonfly Shipping, which is a delivery service (formerly known as Intelcom) contracted by Amazon for last-mile parcel delivery.

The Etobicoke small business, located at 7 Michael Power Place, has watched in frustration as dozens of angry customers leave negative feedback, accusing it of late, missed, or entirely absent deliveries, issues which the business says have nothing to do with its operations.

"They constantly say they're coming to pick up Amazon return packages, send you texts and emails, and then never show up. Total waste of time. You wait around for nothing. It's a joke. Changing the name doesn’t change the fact that this is still the same unreliable, useless company. Amazon should drop them. Avoid at all costs," one review reads.

dragonfly shipping"Disgusting service! I waited for the courier for 5 hours, cancelled my business and was at home, and they simply sent me a message 'the courier cannot come to the house - reschedule the date.' No one called - I would have gone out to the road if necessary. The road is not blocked, there is guest parking, but I lost time, and I will have to lose it again if I reschedule the pickup," another dissatisfied customer shared.

In response to the wave of negative reviews, Dragonfly Delivery has repeatedly clarified that it is not associated with Dragonfly Shipping.

dragonfly shipping"We are a separate business and do not handle Amazon deliveries," the company wrote under several one-star reviews. "I kindly ask that you direct your feedback to the appropriate company so it reaches the right people."

Dragonfly Shipping, the company many reviewers are referring to, operates numerous stations across Ontario, including Barrie, Belleville, Brantford, Kingston, Kitchener, London, Mississauga, Ottawa, Thunder Bay, and Windsor, among others.
