Biidaasige Park is Toronto's new must-see space with amazing views and a zipline

Toronto's newest waterfront public space, Biidaasige Park, is sure to be a hit this summer, and you can check it out for yourself at the park's grand opening event happening this weekend.

Biidaasige Park (pronounced "bee-daw-si-geh," which translates to "sunlight shining toward us" in Anishinaabemowin) is an impressive new space in the burgeoning Port Lands area, built around a human-made river mouth in an area of the city that was a barren wasteland just a few years earlier.

blogTO got a chance to preview the new space on the eve of its public debut, including a look at the park's impressive skyline views of downtown Toronto, elaborate play structures, and even a zipline!

Biidaasige Park celebrates its official opening at 39 Commissioners St. on both Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those looking to attend the grand opening can take a free shuttle provided by Parkbus, running from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Toronto City Hall and Biidaasige Park.
