Here's how many Tesla Cybertrucks were sold in Canada before massive recall

Transport Canada finally acknowledged the Tesla Cybertuck recall, and through it, we've learned that Elon Musk's boxy truck hasn't sold that well in Canada.

The recall notice mentions that 1,995 Cybertrucks have been affected, so there is a slim chance that Tesla has sold six more to get over the 2,000 unit hump since the end of February when this recall was first issued. Tesla's website says that all trucks manufactured between Nov 13, 2024, and Feb 27, 2025, are part of the recall.

In case you missed it, the American auto company needed to recall all the Cybertrucks because it glued on portions of the metal trim. The glue was failing, resulting in the trim coming off. Tesla is replacing the glue with a stronger adhesive and a couple of screws, so the problem is easily fixable.

In the U.S., Tesla recalled 46,000 Cybertrucks, so it does appear to be selling better down south. In Canada, it costs $114,000 or more, depending on the trim options.

In other Tesla news, Canada is looking into the company after it allegedly sold over 8,000 cars in one weekend, causing the federal EV incentive to dry up prematurely. Alongside that, reports from Clutch.com suggest that existing Tesla owners have been in a hurry to get rid of them, with a 48 per cent rise in used Teslas on the car-buying platform.
