Jack Darling Memorial Park

Jack Darling Park near Toronto has a hidden beach with skyline views

Jack Darling Park is a picturesque escape near Toronto with quiet trails, picnic areas, and a sandy beach with views of the distant city skyline.

Located off Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, Jack Darling spans 22 acres along the waterfront. A paved section of the Waterfront Trail  which runs from Burlington to Toronto crosses through the park, connecting to the nearby beautiful Rattray Marsh Conservation Area.

Other amenities within Jack Darling include two large picnic areas, an off-leash dog park, two tennis courts, and ample free parking.

There is also a playground and splash pad for kids in the summer, while the large hill serves as a popular tobogganing spot in the winter months.

The sandy beach area has a shallow area for swimming between two rock formations, which keep the waves calm. The beach is unsupervised, so swim at your own risk.

You'll also want to check the water quality before you swim at Jack Darling, which can be found on the Peel Region website, or check out this list for the cleanest beaches for swimming in Ontario right now.

You'll find Jack Darling Park at 1180 Lakeshore Road West in Mississauga.
