Walmart Canada will be the first to begin offering pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, April 24 at 12 a.m. EDT.
The retailer confirmed the timing on X (Twitter), which is notably earlier than the 12 p.m. EDT timing provided by some other retailers, like GameStop Canada. (Noon is the online timing for GameStop; stores will also accept pre-orders a little earlier once they open, although that will still be later than Walmart.)
Walmart had previously confirmed the midnight timing when pre-orders were originally set for — but later delayed from — April 9, but now we know that applies to the new April 24 date.

Unfortunately, though, Walmart noted that it will only accept pre-orders for the Switch 2 through its website, so don't bother going to your local store to try to place one. Naturally, Walmart is also only allowing one pre-order per household.
On Good Friday, Nintendo confirmed that Switch 2 pre-orders will open in Canada on April 24 following the initial delay.
At the same time, the company finally announced official Canadian pricing for Switch 2 games and accessories, including a whopping $110 price tag for Mario Kart World. Nintendo also noted that the price of the Switch 2 itself — $629 — isn't going up.
