UFC will be returning to Toronto next year

The UFC will be making its way back to Toronto in 2027.

Following a successful UFC Fight Night in Edmonton on Saturday, it was announced that Toronto will be the next Canadian city on the docket. UFC 336 will take over Scotiabank Arena on Jan. 30, marking the first UFC event to take place in the city since UFC 297 in 2024, which had a headlining fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis.

The fight card for the upcoming Toronto event has yet to be revealed. Edmonton's lineup featured a record 12 Canadians getting into the octagon at Rogers Place.

On top of this being the UFC's eighth trip to Toronto dating back to 2011, it will also be the 39th event held in Canada.

Though the participants have yet to be revealed, Canadian fighter Mike Malott seems very interested in making an appearance. The Ontario native KO'd Joaquin Buckley with a devastating knee to the head during Saturday's event in Edmonton.

After the bout, Malott told UFC fans to expect him in Toronto.

"I'm ready to defend Canada in the octagon," Malott told reporters after his fight. "When they come back in January, expect me to be there."

There has also been chatter about welterweight champion Islam Makhachev potentially headlining the Toronto event, where he would presumably defend his title against Carlos Prates, though nothing has been confirmed.

Tickets for UFC 336 in Toronto are set to go on sale on Nov. 20.
