While several Toronto Blue Jays players (and one manager) spent their All-Star break playing baseball in Philadelphia, another spent his break doing something much more Canadian — going to the cottage.
Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer and his family stayed close to Toronto during the five-day break, vacationing in Muskoka before the second half of the season.
Scherzer's wife, Erica, shared a few pictures of the trip on social media, posting photos from what appeared to be a cottage near Port Carling, Ont.
She shared a POV photo of her sitting on a dock enjoying some coffee out of a Muskoka-themed mug while two of the Scherzer's four children bounced on a water trampoline in the middle of the lake.

You can ask any Toronto resident, there's no better way to kick back and relax than the cottage, plus the cold lake is perfect for summer fun, or in Scherzer's case, rehabbing an injury.
The 41-year-old has been in and out of the starting rotation with Toronto this season, rehabbing a back injury and right forearm tendonitis that left him off the mound for the last month.
Though the future Hall of Famer is expected back with the Blue Jays soon.

Scherzer has already made two rehab starts with Toronto's minor-league affiliates in Buffalo and Vancouver. He's expected to make one more start in Triple-A before potentially rejoining the Blue Jays' rotation by the end of July.
When he does return, baseball history awaits him.
He currently sits 11th on MLB's all-time strikeout list among pitchers, and can pass Walter Johnson and move into the top 10 with six more strikeouts.
Whenever it happens this season, it'll be a milestone Blue Jays fans won't want to miss.
