Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher just had the unthinkable happen in San Francisco.
With the team playing a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants, Fisher's father was on his way to the city on Monday to watch his son play when he reportedly suffered a stroke and died.
According to Sportsnet's Blue Jays reporter Shi Davidi, Fisher's dad, Norm, and a friend of his were en route to the Bay Area to watch his son play at Oracle Park when he suffered a stroke on his way to the hotel.
Braydon Fisher is back with the Blue Jays but won't be active until SD on Friday. HIs father, Normand, died from a stroke Monday, at age 65.

Norm and a friend were en route to SF to watch the series. "The last two days have been the hardest days of my life and my family's life,"…
Norm was a former officer in the U.S. Air Force and reportedly spent his retirement being his son's biggest fan. Fisher told reporters he was one person who "never had a bad day."
Fisher was put on bereavement leave on Monday, but rejoined the team on Wednesday ahead of the matinee game against the Giants.
He told the media before today's game that the last two days had been the hardest in his life.
"I just wanted to come back and be with the guys," said Fisher.
The 25-year-old right-hander has been a reliable option out of the Blue Jays' bullpen this 2026 season, posting an ERA of 3.33 across 46 innings.
