Blue Jays legend Kawasaki still can't stop talking about loving Toronto a decade later

It's been over a decade since Munenori Kawasaki played for the Toronto Blue Jays, but he's still remembered fondly by the fan base. And it seems the feelings are mutual.

The 44-year-old, who still plays professional baseball, was never an All-Star-calibre player for the Blue Jays. In fact, he was far from even being an everyday player. His infectious personality and lively interviews, however, saw the city of Toronto, and all of Canada, fall in love with him.

By all accounts, Kawasaki loved the organization and fan base the very same way, and has been on record in the past reflecting on the great times he had in Toronto during his three seasons as a Blue Jay from 2013 to 2015.

Now, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney set to visit Japan, Kawasaki chose to send out another message on just how much love he has for the country of Canada.

"Hi, I am Munenori Kawasaki. I am from Japan," he begins. "Canada good! I was playing for [the] Toronto Blue Jays. I have good [memories]. I had [a] great time in Canada. My son is born in Toronto, his name is Airc."

Though always remembered for his humour, Kawasaki did get serious near the end of the clip when discussing the relationship between Canada and Japan.

"I sincerely hope that Japan and Canada will always remain close friends and continue to be like family," Kawasaki continued. "Canada love! Japan love!"

Though he hasn't appeared in the MLB since 2016, Kawasaki continues to star over in Japan. This past December, the infielder was able to help lead the Mid East Falcons to a Baseball United championship. The former Blue Jay was named as the MVP of the league final.
