Toronto Blue Jays Tucker Straw

Toronto Blue Jays player's deleted Kyle Tucker IG post has fans freaking out

The Toronto Blue Jays fanbase is sitting on the edge of their seat waiting to see where Kyle Tucker will sign.

Reports broke this week about the Blue Jays having a long-term offer on the table for the outfielder, while the New York Mets are heavy into the bidding war as well. Tucker has been linked to Toronto since the start of the offseason.

With Spring Training right around the corner, it appears the saga is reaching its end.

Blue Jays player Myles Straw poured fuel on the fire on Wednesday morning, posting a Tucker jersey to his Instagram story before quickly deleting it. That sent Toronto fans into a frenzy, as they wondered if Straw potentially leaked that the Jays had won the sweepstakes for the former Chicago Cub.

There is a chance that Straw's post has nothing to do with Tucker's ongoing contract negotiations, though he does have some strong connections to the top free agent. The 31-year-old Jays outfielder is best friends with Tucker, dating back to their time together with the Houston Astros.

The bond between the two is so strong that Tucker served as a groomsmen at Straw's wedding in 2024. If any Jays player was going to have a scoop on whether or not Tucker was Toronto-bound, it would be him.

Blue Jays fans acted accordingly on social media, with the situation going viral on X.

"We're going to have to add the phantom Myles Straw IG story to the Kyle Tucker lore if he ends up coming here," wrote a Blue Jays fan.

"If Myles Straw pulls this off, build a statue, and I'm not even joking," said a hopeful Jays fan.

While some fans were crossing their fingers, hoping it was a sign, others were a little more hostile toward Straw for potentially giving them false hope. Everybody copes with stress a little differently.

"If Tucker doesn't end up signing with Toronto, we need to have a discussion about Myles Straw," said one nervous Jays fan.

"Going to have a problem with Myles Straw if he’s just trolling," said another

With each passing minute that Tucker remains unsigned, the stress level of Blue Jays fans will continue to rise. For every Toronto baseball fan's sake, let's hope that the news comes sooner rather than later.
