George Springer's iconic ALCS Toronto Blue Jays home run ball is now up for sale

Another iconic piece of Toronto Blue Jays history is up for sale.

The ball from George Springer's incredible home run in Game 7 of the ALCS versus the Seattle Mariners is available for auction.

Springer's home run allowed the Blue Jays to come from behind and knock off the Seattle Mariners. By doing so, the Jays were able to advance to the World Series for the first time since 1993.

To no surprise, given that it's one of the biggest hits in Blue Jays history, getting this ball won't come for a low price. In fact, the starting bid, which will remain up for auction until Saturday, Dec. 13, is set at US$10,000.

"Presented is the Official Major League Rob Manfred Jr. baseball hit by Springer that would eventually send the Blue Jays to the World Series. Against starter-acting-reliever Bryan Woo in the bottom of the seventh inning, with runners on second and third, Springer launched a 96-mph sinker deep into left center, clearing the outfield wall and landing 381 feet into the hands of one Michael Angeletti," the write-up on Goldin reads.

Angeletti, who reportedly told his cousin moments before the home run was hit that he was going to catch it, will also be providing proof of authenticity along with the baseball itself.

This is yet another historic piece of Jays memorabilia being auctioned off. Just weeks ago, Addison Barger's pinch-hit grand slam ball from Game 1 of the World Series is also up for grabs, with bids for it ending on Thursday, Dec. 11.
