Fun-loving Toronto Blue Jays player told not to pour champagne into mouths of fans
The Toronto Blue Jays don't win their division too often, so they make sure to party like it counts when they do.
On Sunday, the Blue Jays picked up just their seventh-ever American League East title, earning them a bye through the first round of the MLB playoffs after winning their final game of the season over the Tampa Bay Rays.
And while everyone on the team's roster seemed to be relishing in a moment they'll not soon forget, perhaps no one was partying harder with the fans more than catcher Tyler Heineman.
After celebrating on the field, in the locker room, and again on the field, Heineman opted to spray a few rows of fans with a bottle of champagne.
X user @spen______, who was sitting right by the action, shared his side of the story.
"From the first pitch, the entire crowd knew the stakes of the game. When the game was over it felt like the entire building had a weight lifted off their shoulders. So the celebrations were amazing," he told Offside. "Tyler wanted to party with everyone and get everyone involved. He was popping bottles on the people in the first two rows. It was hilarious. Felt like the fans were really part of the celebration."
The 30-year-old Jays diehard fan uploaded the clip online, joking that Heineman was breaking plenty of Smart Serve rules. But it turns out the Jays catcher actually did get told off by someone with the team, as he shared on a recent appearance on the Foul Territory show.
"I got told afterwards that 'hey, you should probably not do that because you don't know their ages'. And I was like, 'I was only pouring champagne into the mouths of people with beards, or women that I knew were over 30 years old. But I understood, and I apologized," Heineman said.

For Heineman and his fans, they can only hope that Sunday won't be the last time they're celebrating this fall, though that's easier said than done.
"There’s no easy matchups, you face the best pitchers, and every pitch means that much more," @spen______ added. "I'm a nervous wreck."
