Times for the first Toronto Blue Jays ALDS home games announced

We are inching closer and closer to seeing the Toronto Blue Jays play in the ALDS for the first time since 2016.

The Blue Jays clinched the AL East Division on the final day of the regular season with a 13-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, giving them an impressive 94-68 record.

The Jays are patiently awaiting the winner of a Wild-Card series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees to determine who they will play in the ALDS.

The ALDS is set to start Saturday and we now know the times of the first two games, both of which will come at Rogers Centre.

If the Blue Jays play the Red Sox:

• Game 1: Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:08 p.m. 
• Game 2: Sunday, Oct. 5 at 4:08 p.m. 

If the Blue Jays play the Yankees:

• Game 1: Saturday, Oct. 4 at 4:08 p.m.
• Game 2: Sunday, Oct. 5 at 4:08 p.m.

Despite this being a rather lengthy break for the Blue Jays, they are doing what they can to stay in game-ready shape, hosting two intrasquad practice games at Rogers Centre this week, one on Wednesday and the other on Thursday. Fans can attend these games for just $10.

As far as the ALDS is concerned, the Blue Jays will play the opening two games of the series on home turf, before going on the road for Game 3 on Tuesday, Oct. 7 as well as a potential Game 4, which would be played on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Should it be necessary, a decisive Game 5 would be back in Toronto on Friday, Oct. 10.
