Here's how to get tickets for Toronto games in FIFA World Cup lottery

Fans will be one step closer to getting their hands on FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets this week.

The first ticket lottery process begins on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and continues until Friday, Sept. 19, though you'll need a Visa to ultimately purchase tickets.

Potential buyers can go to FIFA's website to register for the draw and will be asked to create an account or log in to their previously existing one. Beginning Wednesday, fans will be asked to fill out a comprehensive form that will allow them to enter a lottery system to hopefully secure their seats for the World Cup.

FIFA previously announced that tickets for group-stage matches will begin at US$60 (C$82). Other ticket prices have yet to be revealed.

This initial presale is expected to include roughly one million tickets. Fans can purchase up to four tickets per game for up to 10 matches.

"With just ten months to go until the FIFA World Cup 26 kicks off, we are excited to launch the first phase of ticket sales for the tournament," said FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer, Heimo Schirgi. "This marks a momentous milestone as we build up to this historic event, and we look forward to millions of fans joining us in North America next June."

Tickets for this first phase will be available for purchase using a Visa credit card, a Visa debit card, or a Visa reloadable prepaid card.

Fans selected through the lottery draw will be assigned a time slot to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those who miss out on this draw or are not registered in time, there will be other opportunities to get tickets, as FIFA will be releasing them in phases.

Hospitality tickets have been available for purchase since July, though those start at C$2,500.

Other purchasing windows will be rolled out in two phases in 2026, where fans applying can then look for specific games, knowing which teams will be playing. FIFA will also launch its own resale platform for tickets, while Canada Soccer will hold a ticket lottery, with tickets selected at random.

Canada will host 13 World Cup matches in 2026 — seven at BC Place in Vancouver and six at BMO Field in Toronto. FIFA estimates that roughly 6.5 million fans are expected to attend the North American-hosted tournament in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
