Tonight's must-win Toronto Blue Jays game has been postponed

Tonight's must-win Toronto Blue Jays game against the Baltimore Orioles will have to wait another day.

The game scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Camden Yards has been postponed due to ongoing inclement weather in the Baltimore area. It will be made up as part of a split‑admission doubleheader on Wednesday, according to the team.

The Blue Jays will now play a doubleheader on Wednesday, with the first game taking place at 1:35 p.m., and the second game scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Toronto will need to win both to keep its postseason hopes alive, needing to win its final five games plus get some help from other teams around the American League.

According to FanGraphs, the Blue Jays' postseason chances have dwindled to 1.2 per cent. Even if they win their final five games, they would need either the Chicago White Sox or Cleveland Guardians to only win one game over the same stretch.

If Toronto loses either game of Wednesday's doubleheader and the White Sox or the Guardians win on Tuesday night, the Blue Jays would be mathematically eliminated. 

Max Scherzer was slated to start for Toronto in Game 2 of the three-game series, in what could also be his final game in a Blue Jays uniform.

The 41-year-old, who's on a one-year, $3 million deal, will become a free agent at the end of the year, along with several other Blue Jays stars.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider has not named a starter for Game 2 of the doubleheader tomorrow. However, it's expected to be a bullpen day, with Spencer Arrighetti optioned to the team's Spring Training Complex on Monday.
