Former Toronto Raptor Pascal Siakam surprises restaurant by paying everyone's bill

Former Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam certainly made sure the visitors to one fast food spot would never forget their meal.

On a recent trip to Grenada, Siakam decided he was in the mood for the local Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, and chose to pay for everyone else's meal in line as well.

"We don't want attention," Siakam said, perhaps somewhat ironically, in a clip he uploaded to his social media channels. "They're saying the Caribbean KFC is different, so I'm trying to see what it's about."

"I just wanted some chicken," Siakam said. "I haven't had KFC in a long time… probably since college."

"This is the first time in history that anyone has ever purchased meals for everyone in the building," a worker in the video shared. "Our menu is sort of different to the other markets, which is unique."

Siakam has been on the Indiana Pacers for the last season and a half, after being dealt away from the Raptors in January 2024.

A 27th overall draft pick in 2016, Siakam built up quite the resume in Toronto: two All-Star appearances, two All-NBA appearances, the NBA's Most Improved Player award in 2018-19, and, of course, being a part of the 2019 NBA title-winning roster.

Siakam's Pacers fell in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder this year. Following the loss, Siakam admitted that his time in Toronto had a bit of a tougher end than he'd previously let on.

"A couple years ago, I think basketball was just, kind of dark for me. It was not fun at all. And I got traded here and these guys, they just gave me a boost — starting with [Tyrese Haliburton] obviously — just playing with these guys has been so incredible," Siakam told reporters. "Just finding my joy for the game."
