Mike Myers stops by broadcast booth at Toronto Maple Leafs game

The Toronto Maple Leafs radio booth got a bit of extra star power for last night's game.

Prior to the team's 7-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers, Canadian actors Dave Foley and Mike Myers joined Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph in the Sportsnet booth for a quick chat and a photo session.

Myers made the most of his time in the press box, also getting a chance to play the organ with team musician Jimmy Holmstrom.

In a radio hit today on TSN 1050, Bowen shared his experience with the duo in the booth.

"Both of them came up with their Leaf jerseys on, which was great," Bowen said.

Myers made headlines during a set of return appearances to Saturday Night Live, where he played Elon Musk.

More notably, though, he picked up brownie points among many Canadians for his "elbows up" gesture in the show's closing credits while wearing a "Canada is Not for Sale" t-shirt, a statement regarding the ongoing trade disputes between his home country and the United States.

Myers also recently featured in a Liberal Party ad with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, while Bowen has been quite open over the years about his conservative political leanings.

"I don't necessarily agree with the politics and everything, but I'm fine with it, and it was kind of nice reminiscing," Bowen said.

The commentator added that the first time he met Myers was at a Leafs game in the early 1990s during the latter's days as a cast member of SNL, but actually didn't clock who he was meeting.

"I was embarrassed by the fact that, like, I don't watch an awful lot of situation TV or whatever. I had no idea who Mike was," he admitted.

In the following years, in the release of the Austin Powers franchise, Bowen said that Myers' role as Fat Bastard ended up becoming one of his favourite characters ever.

"I would watch that religiously. I mean, it is just an amazing piece of comedy that he did in that movie," Bowen added.
