Toronto legend Mike Myers trolls Elon Musk and reps Canada on SNL

It's been years since Canadian actor Mike Myers appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL), and he certainly made an impression upon his return, taking aim at U.S. President Trump and Elon Musk.

The actor from Scarborough, best known on SNL for his Wayne's World persona, made an electrifying return over the weekend and managed to troll both Musk and Trump in one episode.

In the closing credits, Myers appeared onstage with comedian Shane Gillis and Canadian singer Tate McRae. As the guests said goodbye to viewers, Myers showed off his T-shirt emblazoned with the Canadian flag and the phrase "Canada is not for sale." He lifted his arm, pointed at his elbow, and mouthed, "Elbows up."

For the past few months, Trump has been relentlessly referring to Canada as the 51st state, sparking outrage. Online, netizens cheered Myers, with one calling him "a Canadian legend."

"Show some love for Mike Myers, who wore a 'Canada is not for sale' shirt on SNL last night," wrote another X user.

Someone took a swipe at another popular Canadian, stating, "Wayne Gretzky should take notes on how to be a proud Canadian from Mike Myers."

Another netizen shared Myers' photo on Reddit with the headline, "Mike Myers on SNL last night showing Gretzky how it's done."

One person commented, "Myers is 100x the patriot Gretzky thinks he is."

However, Trump wasn't the only one skewered by Myers.

In the episode's opening skit, Myers crashed the disastrous White House meeting with Trump, played by James Austin Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, played by Mikey Day.

"Donald, what are you doing in my office?" asked Myers. "You know I'm the president now, right? I'm kidding."

"I really enjoy everything you're doing with DOGE, Elon," said Johnson, referring to the Department of Government Efficiency, headed by Musk.

"They're saying I'm firing people with no cause, but I do have cause — it's 'cause I feel like it," responds Myers.

He continued, "We're not going to get it perfect, you know. We are firing the nonessential employees like air traffic controllers."

The real-life Musk then took to X to make it clear what he thought of the skit.

"Humour fails when it lies," wrote Musk in response to a tweet.
