'Thriller'-themed Halloween dance party coming to Ontario this month

A Thriller-esque dance with the dead is just one of many Halloween-themed events bringing the spooky season to Ontario this year.

Thriller Halloween Dance Party, an adults-only 19+ celebration, is coming to Vaughan, Ont., and it's promising a frightfully fun night.

The event plans to offer all the classic fixings of a Halloween night out, but the main attraction goes beyond the costumes and dressed-up DJs spinning a sinister background score.

Inspired by Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller, the event wants to choreograph one big flash mob with all of its guests taking part in a choreographed tribute to the Halloween classic. Before the party officially hits the dance floor, organizers will take to the stage and teach attendees the legendary moves to Jackson's Grammy Award-winning song.

The team, which is touting the upcoming party as "Vaughan's biggest Halloween-night celebration," wants as many people in the room as possible to know the steps so all guests can "join in when the music drops and the zombies come out to play!"

Beyond the dance floor takeover, guests can enjoy themed cocktails, photo ops, and a chance to enter a costume contest, with the winner taking home a fun prize.

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as famous pop-culture personalities, with bonus points for anyone who channels Jackson's classic looks from videos like Thriller, Billie Jean, and Bad.

While organizers encourage guests to have fun with their costumes, they're asking everyone to keep safety precautions top of mind. Thriller Halloween Dance Party has strict rules prohibiting realistic weapons, unsafe props, and illegal substances inside the venue.

The party is on Oct. 31 and kicks off at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35 plus applicable taxes and are now available for purchase online.

Thriller Halloween Dance Party will be held at Bellvue Manor, located at 8083 Jane St., Vaughan, Ont.
