Toronto's iconic Distillery Winter Village 2026 returns this November

Nothing marks the start of the holiday season quite like the Distillery Winter Village in Toronto, when The Distillery Historic District brings a taste of European-style, world-class Christmas markets right here to the '6ix.

We may have just barely crossed the threshold into fall, but it's apparently time to start getting excited about this holiday tradition.

The Distillery Winter Village 2026 is making its much-anticipated return this November, kicking off the most wonderful time of year in Toronto on Nov. 12 with its iconic tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on opening day. 

Although the full itinerary for this year's attraction won't be announced until October, guests can start getting ready to welcome back the beloved traditions that set the Distillery Winter Village apart from other seasonal attractions in town.

The legendary Christmas tree will once again cement its place amid the village's hustle and bustle, with this year's decor revealed on opening night. And, of course, no holiday market is complete without buzz-worthy bites — both new and old — thousands of dazzling lights, roaming carolers, and the vendor market, where visitors can shop while supporting local retailers.

With twinkling lights overhead and carols filling the cobblestone streets, Distillery Winter Village is about as close as guests get to stepping inside a real-life Christmas card.

New additions to the winter wonderland, which marks 17 years in Toronto this year, include an immersive digital Nutcracker experience, a separately ticketed attraction that features interactive games and the chance to indulge in holiday-themed sweets straight from the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

The Distillery Winter Village 2026, which was in the news earlier this year for raising awareness of a new wave of holiday-market-related scams, will run from Nov. 12 to Jan. 3, 2027, and will be open daily. General admission starts at $16 plus applicable taxes, and tickets are now available for purchase online.

Guests must purchase tickets to enter the village during peak periods, but they can explore the grounds for free during less busy pockets.

Those looking to penny-pinch ahead of the holiday season (I don't blame you!) can visit the attraction Monday to Wednesday, without paying the admission fee through Dec. 13.
