Dancing with the Stars coming to Toronto for first time in years

Toronto's mirrorball moment is finally here! After years of patiently waiting for another chance to see the pros hit the ballroom in person, Dancing with the Stars: Live! is returning to Toronto next year for the first time in nearly two decades.

The live tour will be making its way to Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m., bringing 11 of the show's legendary dancers to the city for a night full of new routines, sparkly costumes, and plenty of ballroom drama.

The upcoming tour will stop in 60 cities across North America, with Toronto serving as the only Canadian stop. While Ontario has been treated to a taste of the Dancing with the Stars magic recently, with a tour stop in Niagara Falls last year, the pros haven't taken the stage in Toronto since 2009.

The competition series is currently in its 35th season, featuring a star-studded cast of celebrity guests, including Julia Stiles (Save the Last Dance), Tatyana Ali (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Guillermo Rodriguez (Jimmy Kimmel Live!), Maura Higgins (Love Island UK, Traitors), Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, Grey's Anatomy), Jenna Dewan (Step Up), and Ezra Frech (two-time Paralympian).

The tour's cast includes some of the show's most memorable pros, including Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson, Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Ezra Sosa, Sharna Burgess, Britt Stewart, Rylee Arnold, Hailey Bills, and Adele Zaikman. For the first time, the Dancing with the Stars troupe will also be joining the pros on the tour.

The upcoming shows are set to be directed by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mandy Moore, whose impressive resume includes choreography for La La Land and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, so expect the production to be much more elevated than your average cha-cha.

"Last year's Dancing with the Stars tour was record-breaking, with sold-out shows across the country and demand so strong that we added additional dates," said Ryan O'Dowd, executive producer of Dancing with the Stars.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. local time, with VIP packages also going on sale at the same time.
