Aesthetic Toronto alley transforms into a downtown pumpkin patch this week

Toronto's Honest Ed's Alley is quickly becoming the place to be, any time of the week! From the local spots serving delicious bites to cute storefronts perfect for a little retail therapy, the area has a little bit of everything. But this Wednesday, the alleyway is getting an extra dose of fall magic with a special event.

Honest Ed's Alley is transforming into a "Pumpkin Alley" on Oct. 28, offering Torontonians the chance to get a free pumpkin while supplies last.

Starting at 3 p.m. and running until 6 p.m., the city's newly developed space will welcome all to celebrate the fall season, with a live DJ and free samples from some of the Mirvish Village stores — SOBR Market, Batch Cookies, and Soleya Teas.

Organizers say the event "nods to Honest Ed's legacy of bringing people together through generosity and community connection."

Back in July, the alleyway was still in development, with plans to create a vibrant pocket of shops and food vendors. At the time, one of the original neon signs that once stood in Ed's Alley had returned to approximately its original location.

The sign offered a glimpse of what was to come, with plans for more glowing signs to illuminate the alleyway's micro-retail units.

If you've yet to check out the adorable alleyway, this is the perfect excuse. And best of all, it's free.

Honest Ed's Alley is located off Lennox Street between Markham and Bathurst.
