winter skating the bentway toronto

You can skate in your pyjamas under a Toronto highway with a cup of coffee this month

Toronto's The Bentway is hosting one last skating event before drawing the curtains on the winter season.

On Mar. 8, the special "Daylight Saving Skate" invites you to glide along the popular trail beneath the Gardiner Expressway, giving you one last chance to savour the season before the clocks spring forward and we lose one hour of sleep.

Attendees are encouraged to skate around the loop in their favourite pyjamas, with free coffee served from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help get you moving. Embracing the time change, the rink will open an hour early for the occasion.

This will be the final day for free skating at this landmark destination. Originally scheduled to close on Feb. 16, the season was extended this year at the public's request to keep the rink open a little longer.

The Bentway is located at 250 Fort York Blvd.
