wheels on the danforth vintage car show toronto

Free vintage car show will shut down major Toronto street this month

Mark your calendars: on Saturday, August 16, 2025, Danforth Avenue from Byng to Warden in east Toronto transforms into a colourful open-air car spectacle hosted by the Crossroads of the Danforth BIA, for the Wheels on the Danforth car festival.

Running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., this one-day fest features everything from classic muscle cars to tuners, plus live music, performers, food trucks, vendors, and fun for all ages. Admission is completely free.

A reminder that Danforth Avenue will be closed from Warden Avenue to Byng Avenue, and Danforth Road will be closed from Landry Avenue to Danforth Avenue from 7 a.m. to midnight on that day.

Why you have to go

Wheels on the Danforth blends polished autos with community energy. A massive street-judged car show featuring hundreds of vehicles — from vintage classics and hot rods to race cars, exotics, tuners, and themed movie cars — takes place twice throughout the day; a morning judged show (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) and an evening show & shine (4 p.m.–9 p.m.), with awards scheduled at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

You can also experience live entertainment all day: local bands, DJs, buskers, street performers, and on‑stage acts will be scattered at multiple corners along the route.

And nothing is complete without food! There will be a delicious mix of food stalls, vendors, artisan booths, raffles and interactive demos all for you to indulge in.

Things to keep in mind

Because this is a free event, there is no need for tickets. Just show up, explore, and enjoy. The best part? Street parking, TTC access, and full wheelchair accessibility make it easy to get there.

I would suggest getting there as early as you can. Start the morning car judging early and return for evening stage shows and prize ceremonies; hang out for the bands or enjoy vendor food between viewing cars.

I mean it when I say there is something to do here for everyone.

Wheels on the Danforth 2025 has become a summer highlight in the city. From gleaming classics to live music and artisan finds, it brings together East Danforth in bright wheels and community spirit — for free and with flair.
